The Late Great School Debate Who says there is no God! The atheist says the wonders of nature are accidental. They say no almighty hand made a thousand billion stars. Did they make themselves? Our world and the things within it were not thrown together haphazardly. Consider the fact that earth is the proper size and distance from other planets to stay in orbit. Earth is 91 million miles from the sun. Place it 120 million miles away and everything would freeze or move it 60 million miles away and everything would bum. If the sun gave off half as much heat, things would freeze: twice as much heat would roast everything. Scientist cannot explain how atmospheric gases happen to exist in just the right amounts necessary to support life. Or how evolution made provision to maintain this balance for future life that had not yet evolved. The human body is a most intricate and complex creation. The human heart beats for 70-80 years without faltering, getting it's rest between beats. A kidney will filter poison from the blood without harming it's good elements. The human tongue has power and flexibility to form words which the brain can understand. A womb keeps spreading a tiny ovum until a baby is formed with the right number of fingers, ears and eyes, and is strong enough to be sustained in this world. Careful planning points to the planner. The Bible declares that we can deduce the existence of a creator from observing the world around us. "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handy-work." (Psalm 19:1) It also says, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." (Psalm 14:1) One more thought - At the equator the earth is revolving at 1000 miles per hour. Slow it to 100 miles per hour and you would link the night and day by 10 times. Plants would scorch in the day and seedlings would freeze to death at night. God is and was and forever shall be!
1.Everyone grows older "So teach us to number our days. that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." (Psalm 90:12) 2. Life is tough and hard, a constant struggle. "Man that is bom of a woman is of few days and full of trouble." (Job 14:1) 3.Life is not always fair. "Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?" (Luke 13:4) 4. No matter how winsome we are, we can't make everybody like us. Even of Jesus it was said, "Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?" (John 1 ;46) "And they laughed him to scorn." (Mark 5:40) 5. No matter how hard we try we cannot change anyone. "0 Jerusalem - how often would I have gathered thy children together - and ye would not?" (Luke 13:34) Each person, with God's help and our encouragement, must decide to change. 6. In spite of how dark the outlook, we cannot change the fact (or wouldn't want to) that God scatters surprise blessings in our path. "...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." (Psalm 30:5) Storms bring out the eagles while the little birds take Cover.
